our history

brady's bakery was born in 2015 in los angeles as a part-time hobby for founder reece scelfo. working in the entertainment industry by day, reece was looking for a creative outlet that combined his love of food with his lifelong sweet tooth.

on a whim, and after calling in sick to his day job, reece decided to bake his favorite cake from scratch using nothing more than a cereal bowl and a fork. it tasted pretty terrible, but he fell in love with the process. weekends quickly became recipe testing marathons, cakes turned into cupcakes, cupcakes turned into cookies, and eventually brady's bakery found its groove.

operations ran out of reece's house until 2020, when brady's moved into its first commercial kitchen in downtown los angeles. the pandemic unexpectedly accelerated our growth, and what started as a side project quickly became a full-time bakery with multiple full time bakers. we outgrew our first kitchen, expanded operations to echo park then to glendale, and in 2027 we'll open our very first storefront back in echo park—bringing brady's bakery full circle.

but our philosophy hasn't changed one bit: we bake what we like to eat.

no shortcuts. no mediocre ingredients. no cookies sitting around waiting for someone to buy them. every order is baked fresh because that's how we'd want to eat them.

baking is our job, but community is our passion. we're proudly LGBTQ-owned and operated, and whether you discover us online, at a pop-up, through a wholesale partner, or soon in our storefront, our goal is always the same: build community through really good food and unforgettable moments.

oh, and most importantly, we're named after reece's adorable pet boxer brady.
